Beyond the Gold Sports and Arts Camp 2012

Beyond the Gold is a sports and arts day camp being offered at Pleasant Valley Church on August 1-3, 2012, from 9am-3pm each day. Registration is open to children entering first grade through fifth grade.
Registration deadline is Sunday, July 22, 2012. Cost of $25 includes sports instruction, Bible presentation, all materials, snacks, prizes, a T-Shirt and lunch.
Children select one of the following tracks:
Sports Track includes soccer, basketball, and football. Each day sports track participants may choose an elective instead of their assigned sport. Electives may include activities like kickball or tumbling. We will utilize nearby, offsite fields for football and soccer. Children will walk to fields with adult supervision.
Arts Track includes dance and drama. Participants will give a short performance for children and parents at the end of the final day. We are grateful for an experienced staff that loves children!
Tentative daily schedule:

Bible lessons:
The Bible lessons each day will focus on real people in the Bible that were going for the gold because of their faith in the true God. Exciting stories of present day athletes that put their faith in God will also be enjoyed. After the large group presentation each day the children will sit down with their huddle coaches to discuss applications for what they have learned.

Sports Camp Staff Needs – Pastor Paul seeks adults and teens to serve as Huddle coaches (small group leaders). Need not be athletic; but love for Jesus and kids is a must.
